History of Glen Oaks

The Association was initially set up to take ownership of 310 homes in the Darnley area from Glasgow District Council in 1991.

Following a further two stock transfers in Pollok and Arden the Association grew to 1313 properties across our three areas: Arden, Pollok and Darnley.

489 new build properties have been built to date and we have aspirations to continue building in the future.

£8.5 million has been invested into our properties and estates including 530 new kitchens, 760 new bathrooms and 750 new heating systems.

The history of Glen Oaks will always be closely connected to the achievements of our late Chief Executive, Alasdair McKee, who passed away in November 2022.  Alasdair had been the Association's senior officer for over 30 years and everyone who knew him has commented on his dedication and commitment to Glen Oaks, its communities and the wider housing movement.
