  • NHS Living Life: 0800 328 9655: A free telephone based service for people over the age of 16 feeling low, anxious or stressed. Mon-Fri 1pm -9pm.
  • Samaritans: 116 123. A free and confidential support to anyone, any age.
  • Breathing Space: 0800 83 85 87. A free confidential phone service for people experiencing low mood, depression or anxiety. Mon-Thurs 6pm – 2pm and weekends Friday 6pm to Monday 6am.
  • Bereavement Trust Helpline: 0800 435 455. Available 6pm-10pm every evening.
  • Lifelink: A free counselling service. To make a referral, contact 0141 552 4434 or visit the website: www.lifelink.org.uk.
  • Young Minds Parents Help Line: 0808 802 5544. Offers guidance and support to parents concerned about their child’s mental health.
  • YoungMinds Crisis Messenger: Provides free, 24/7 mental health crisis support across the UK. If you need urgent help text YM to 85258. All texts are answered by trained volunteers, with support from experienced clinical supervisors.
  • Child Bereavement UK Help Line: 0800 028 840. Information and advice to families on how to best support someone who is bereaved.
  • Papyrus Hope Line: 0800 068 4141 / Text: 07860 039 967 / E-mail pat@papyrus-uk.org. Mental health charity dedicated to preventing young suicide by providing support and resources for young people and their families.

  • Children 1st Scotland Parentline: 08000 28 22 33. Free helpline available Mon-Fri, 9am-9pm and Sat-Sun, 9am-12pm.
  • PETAL: 01698 324502. Counselling and support for families and friends of murder and suicide victims including support for children and young people.
  • Beautiful Inside & Out: 0798432880. A Scottish registered charity, supporting bereaved parents and siblings of suicide victims.
