A minimum wait of two years after the initial purchase is required before you can increase your equity stake in the property.
The scheme does not allow you to reduce your percentage.
The stake can be increased regardless of whether the open market value of your property has increased or decreased.
A valuation will be determined by the District Valuer or other such professionally qualified valuer as agreed between the Scottish Ministers and the owner. The valuation will reflect any improvements carried out to the property. As the owner, you will be responsible for meeting all costs including those incurred by the Association when increasing your equity stake.
